How to make Matar Paneer

 

Ingredients:


2 cup Matar

200 grams Paneer

1 medium Onion

2 medium Tomato

1 tbsp Garlic

1/2" Ginger

2 green Chilli

1/2 tsp Cumin seeds

2 Cardamom,

2 Cloves

1-2 small Cinnamon stick

1 Bay Leaf

1/2 tsp Cumin powder

1/2 tsp Coriander powder

1/2 tsp Red chilli powder

1/2 tsp Turmeric powder

3-4 tbsp Mustard Oil

Water as required

1/2 tsp Sugar

1/2 tsp Kasuri Methi

2 tbsp chopped Coriander leaves

1/4 tsp Garam masala powder


Method:


1.Assemble ingredients

Marinade paneer cubes with salt + turmeric + red chilli powder and marinade for 10 minutes, then fry in 1 tbsp Oil till golden brown and keep aside.




2.Make puree of Tomato, Boil Matar and keep aside




3.In moderately heated pan / kadhai add oil and allow to heat, add bay leaf + cumin seeds and allow to crackle. Then add ginger garlic and sauté for a few seconds then add onion and sauté till golden brown.




4.Add the tomato paste + 2 tbsp water + salt and sauté / cook for 2-3 minutes under high flame.Add all spices + 2 tbsp water and sauté till spices leave oil.




5.Add green peas along with water + garam masala + sugar and stir well. Cook for 3-4 minutes.




6.Add paneer cubes and mix well, cook for 2-3 minutes. Additional water can be added as per preferred gravy.

Add chopped coriander and cook further for around 2 minutes.




7.Lastly add ghee and simmer for few seconds. Dish is done.
